The boys flew in yesterday and gran drove; so by 1am local (central) time, we were all here in Madison... at a bar... in Wisconsin... with a few hundred poets from around the country who have convened on their lovely little city here... to talk.
Sometimes we talk about ourselves, sometimes other people/stuff... but always talk- which is great and what we are all here to celebrate, so rock, rock on!
Tonight, the boys have off, so they'll be able to scope the competition, dig on our old friends, and relax/strategize for tomorrow's bout.
Their bouts are Wednesday 8pm at Bartell Drury against Spartanburg, Tucson, and Austin South Flavas; and Thursday 10 pm at Lower Lounge against New Paltz, Minneapolis, and Silver City.
In the mean time, a brief list of my band names:
          -Chris August and The Whiskey-Sours
-gran's balls and Twain's (now awake) hand
-Sleeping Kyle, a condom, and a camera
-gran and Bill McMillan, in skirt and kilt, respectively, stereo t-bagging Nick Fox
Ryan, by the way, was able to take the opportunity to visit some relatives in the area, as well as make the acquaintance of a local police officer and (separately) a well-placed bet at a local casino.
Gran managed a bout and hosted another and had a good time all around.
August went to support Berkeley because XMan is a loverman... we're still waiting to hear the good words from Wilson and Twain.
     Somewhere, Joanna Hoffman is lurking.
     Thank you and good night.
